Mark Hou was born in Raleigh, North Carolina and moved to west coast with his parents when he was two. Attending one performance Summer Camp with Northwest Youth Theatre, Mark fell in love with acting at age twelve. He wrote about the magic of that moment in one of his letters.
My first play with YTN was in the play "Glinda of Oz" during the summer of the year 2016. I made a lot of friends, and I had tons of fun doing the choreography and run-throughs. Before I knew it, opening night was here. I was at backstage with my costume on and waiting for my cue. I had never been so nervous. Before the next line was said, the crowd roared. I was amazed at the applause, as I stood in the spotlight on the top of the stage staring proudly. That was the moment, where I knew acting was my passion, my dream career, and my talent. The rest of the scene went on as I said my lines and moved across the stage confidently. But that moment on stage was my moment, and that has stuck with me forever.”
Here are some other questions we asked Mark so you could get a better feel for his personality:

My biggest inspiration is Stan Lee.
What is your favorite movie/TV show?
My favorite movie would have to be Avengers: Infinity Wars. It was just a fantastic movie full of great actors.
Who is your favorite superhero/supervillain?
My favorite superhero……that’s a tough one. I would have to say that it’s Spiderman. My favorite supervillain would have to be a tie between the Joker and Thanos.
