Jamie Butler is featured in the award winning film “The Crickets Dance" directed by Veronica Robledo based off of the book "The Crickets Dance" written by Deborah Robillard. She is professionally trained in the Miesner technique from the Maggie Flanigan Acting Studio in New York City where she was considered one of the top actors. She has taught liturgical dance/movement for over 15 years. She is also an entrepreneur with a passion for changing the world through the Arts and Financial Education. Her favorite quote is by motivational speaker Les Brown, introduced you her by and her father, "shoot for the moon, if you don't land on the moon, you will land amongst the stars.
We asked Jamie a few questions so that you could get to know him better...
Why did you want to become an actor?
I became an actor because I love playing full out with myself and the liberation that comes with it. I don’t even think that I became an actor, I think I have always been an actor. I enjoy telling stories. I love illuminating the human condition and being able to tell the world a character’s story.
Who are your biggest inspirations in the film/television industry?
My biggest inspiration in the industry is Taraji P. Henson. I admire her determination to succeed in the industry in spite of all of the obstacles that could have halted her career.
What is you favorite Movie/TV show?
My favorite TV show CSI Miami.
